DroneeCockpit installation on plane

 

 

CONNECTION

1). No-1  connector Dronee autopilot has 24 pin IDC connector. 10 of these pins is is power supply from power module.CH1,CH2,CH3,CH4,CH5,CH6,CH7,CH8  pins for Servo and ESC control. 

2) No-2  connector Dronee autopilot has 20 pin IDC connector. It is for external device connection with Raspberry pi CM3. 

3) No-3  is a power module designed to power autopilot from drone battery and sens power usage . it has 10 pins IDC connector . Needs to connect to autopilot No-1 connector. It has buttery IN and Load pads. Battery IN - battery red and black wires should be soldered to these pads accordingly 

RED--> + pad

BLACK--> -pad 

4) Servo has 3 wires . Black (GND) , Red (Vcc), Orange(signal ) wires. colers may wary from manufacurers. 

Connect servo signal cabel to  one of autopilot's signal pins.CH1-8  

Connect GND cabel directly to ESC/BEC power out (GND) wire.

Connect VCC cabel directly to ESC/BEC power out (VCC) wire.

 

Connect all servo signal pins to different channels.  For example . on Flying wing aircraft there are 2 servo.  first servo signal pin connected to CH1, second connected to CH2.

 

5) ESC signal pin connect to free signal pins . on example conencted to CH3.

Connect ESC 5v Vcc wire to VDD servo pin on autopilot. this powers  No-2 connector power outs extrnally from ESC BEC.

 DroneeCOCKPIT comes with High voltage pwer module which is suitable up to 6S battery.  

ESC- should be choosen for the plane power requirment. Especially max current draw should be extimated or tested during take off. This is the phase that aircraft draws max current from battery.

 

FIRMWARE PARAMETER SETUP

DroneeCockpit works with Ardupilot firmware. firmware parameters have to be setted for the airframe specifically. 

To install firmware,

first remove the Raspberry pi Compute module from autopilot.

connect Cube flight controller to PC via USB.

install Mission Planner on your PC

open Mission Planner (MP)

go to "initial setup" tab--->"install firmware"

select Arduplane v3.8.4 and press ok to complete the installation.

Go to "config/tuning" tab then --->"Full Parameter List"
